What is Domain Registrar?

Domain Registrar refers to a company that manages the registration of domain names on the internet. In simple terms, these companies act as middlemen between customers and ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers), the organization responsible for managing domain names.

A Domain Registrar allows individuals and businesses to purchase and manage domain names for their websites. Whenever you want to create a website, you need to register a unique domain name with an accredited Domain Registrar.

Once you have registered your domain name, it becomes your property for a fixed period of time, typically one year. During this time, only you can use this particular web address or sell it if desired. Domain Registrars are responsible for ensuring that each registered domain adheres to unique naming conventions and technical standards required by ICANN.

In summary, without Domain Registrars, there would be no way to identify individual websites on the internet; instead of specific addresses like example.com, we'd have randomly generated IP addresses instead.
