What is Time on Page?

Time on Page - the amount of time that a user spends on a single page of your website before either navigating away or clicking through to another section. This metric can provide valuable insight into how engaged users are with your content and how successful your website is in retaining their attention.

In order to accurately calculate time on page, web technologies track how long a user remains on a particular page without any clicks or other interactions. However, it's important to note that Time on Page does not take into account whether the user has actually read or absorbed the content - they could simply leave the tab open in their browser while doing something else entirely.

Despite these limitations, Time on Page remains an important metric for many marketers and website owners as it can indicate which pages are holding people's attention and which might need improvement.
