What is Redirect?

Redirect is a term used in web technologies to describe the process of forwarding one URL to another. It can be used for various reasons, including website maintenance, keeping track of traffic, and improving user experience by directing them to the correct page.

There are different types of redirects such as 301 redirect, which means a permanent redirect that indicates the original URL has moved permanently; 302 redirect which indicates that the requested resource has been temporarily moved or replaced; and meta refresh redirect where visitors are automatically redirected from one webpage to another after a specified time interval.
